Crystal Beach Community Church located in Crystal Beach, Texas was founded January 6, 2013 by Pastor C.L. Garey as the first Non-denominational Bolivar Peninsula Church. He was terminally ill at this time; but had a heart and a mission to reach out to the un-churched plus to welcome our peninsula to know the love of Jesus Christ. Our Pastor C.L. went to be with the Lord April 27, 2013. However, his vision lives on in our hearts to serve & worship as he so bravely taught us, while so very ill.
During the next 4 months, God blessed us abundantly with Guest/Interim Pastors from Beaumont, Orange and Galveston Texas. We give honor and appreciation to the anointed ones that served CBCC: Pastors’ Marty Forson, Matt Chandler, Mark Davis and Kaye Sims gave their Kingdom contributions to heal, love and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ embellishing Pastor C.L.Garey’s Community Church vision: “real people…with real problems…serving a REAL GOD”.
On September 1, 2013, Spirit filled Pastor Kaye & Jimmy Sims accepted their calling from God to shepherd Crystal Beach Community Church. Kaye graduated in 2003, from Wisdom Bible Institute and fulfilled her World Ministry Fellowship requirements where she continues to be licensed.
Pastor Kaye is an Ordained Minister and has served in many capacities ~teaching disciples for 8 years, leading college career groups for 10+ years, serving as Spiritual leader on Emmaus Walks, while mentoring and counseling many. Kaye serves the Lord with all her heart and obediently works for the Kingdom. Kaye & Jimmy live in Orange, TX., but are blessed to be part-time Crystal Beach residents while “Loving People and Loving God” as Kaye calls it. Jimmy and Kaye’s home church for 33 years was Community Church Orange, where their “Small Group Discipleship” continues to be a personal ministry gift.
Jimmy Sims is diverse with his many shepherd roles as Lay Director on Emmaus Walks and currently leading two weekly men’s groups. He also enjoys proofing the sermons and adds his knowledge and Godly wisdom. His Love for the Lord as well as his City of Orange responsibilities as “Mayor” also keeps him busy. Jimmy and Kaye work together as they also own their own business – Sabine Packaging in Orange. They both are very proud of their families, their only daughter Haley and her husband Brent and of course their prize Granddaughters – Hadley and Molly.
Pastor Kaye & Jimmy both teach the Word of God, provide Godly counsel, and serve as true Servants for the Kingdom. They untiringly teach us how to have a relationship with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. It is a “lifestyle” and a “journey” to be like Christ (Christian), to get into the WORD and reach out to others. Pastor Kaye is teaching us to be a Serving and Worshiping Church.
CBCC is a casual Beach Community Church ~ God Rocks here! The gifted, Sandy Cook, a veteran leader of Praise & Worship teams, directs our music team. The Team and string section is graced by God with talents and a heart of TRUE WORSHIP.
It is exciting to be a part of this God centered non-denomination Community Church. We believe the “Bible is the Truth ~ it breathes God”. We celebrate “One” God revealed to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, Praise & Worship Music, Dances, “Dinner on the Dirt” monthly feeds, Bible studies, Movie Night and many outreach projects makes CBCC a “happening place” to be. We do not take up an offering (Pastor C.L. Garey’s request), if led, there is a small box in the church for donations, prayer requests and comments. CBCC is a corporation registered in the State of Texas and maintains a 501(c)3 IRS status. CBCC is governed by a Board of Directors and Officers. CBCC is transparent with financials, meeting minutes and all open meetings. CBCC tithes monthly to a person or outreach need on our peninsula.
